Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Caulk or sealant
- Cut the hole in the raised panel
Cut a hole in the raised floor panel according to the dimensions specified for the AFM-2 (7-1/8" x 4-18").
- Install the AFH Bracket
Place the AFH Bracket in the center of the cutout opening and hold it tightly against the side, folding the legs around the edge to engage the bottom of the floor panel.
- Seal the Carpet Flange
Before lowering the AFM into the hole, apply caulk or sealant to the underside of the Carpet Flange to prevent water entry.
- Lower the AFM into the hole
Carefully lower the AFM into the cut hole and attach conduit as required to meet wiring needs and comply with National Electrical Code.
- Secure the AFM with screws
Install 1-1/8" long screws to engage the bracket and secure the AFM in place.
- Condition the gaskets
At initial installation, apply a light coating of petroleum jelly to the gaskets on the Cord Door and Carpet Flange to keep them supple and prevent water entry.
- Install wiring and devices
Open the cover of the AFM, attach the required devices, and install all wiring in accordance with National Electrical Code and local codes.
- Close the cover
Close the lid of the AFM, ensuring that the Cord Door is open to route any electrical or data cords out.
