How to Install the AFM-8-BLK Access Floor Module

  1. Cut the hole for the AFM-8

    Cut a hole in the raised floor panel according to the dimensions of the AFM-8 (9-5/8" x 9-5/8").

  2. Install the AFH Bracket

    Install the AFH Bracket on the raised floor panel, centering it in the cutout opening. Hold the bracket tightly against the side and fold the legs around the edge to engage the bottom of the floor panel.

  3. Apply sealant and lower the AFM

    Before lowering the AFM-8 into the hole, apply caulk or sealant to the underside of the Carpet Flange to prevent water entry. Then, lower the AFM-8 into the cut hole.

  4. Attach conduit and secure the AFM

    Attach conduit as required to meet wiring needs and per National Electrical Code requirements. Install 1-1/8" long screws to engage the bracket and secure the AFM-8.

  5. Condition the gaskets

    At initial installation, apply a light coating of petroleum jelly to the gaskets on the Cord Door and Carpet Flange to keep them supple and prevent water entry.

  6. Route electrical and data cords

    Open the cover of the AFM-8 and route the electrical and data cords through the opened Cord Door. Ensure all wiring is installed in accordance with National Electrical Code and local codes.

  7. Close the cover

    Close the lid of the AFM-8, ensuring that the Cord Door is open while doing so.
