Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Torque wrench, Ohmmeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Liquid-tight conduit fitting
- De-energize power
Turn the handle to the 'OFF' position to ensure all power is de-energized before starting the installation.
- Mount the base
Remove the cover from the base if attached. Mount the base to a wall or I-beam at a de-energized power drop with the receptacle facing down, using the adjustable swing-out mounting feet. Tighten the mounting screws to 20 in. lbs.
- Connect the ground wire
Attach the ground wire to the grounding hub as per the schematic, ensuring that the same colored/numbered circuits are maintained throughout the installation.
- Wire the circuit
Loosen the pressure screws on the terminals of the circuit breaker and neutral block. Strip the wire ends to 5/8” and insert them into the breaker terminals on the line side. Tighten the screws to the specified torque.
- Reassemble and test
Ensure the disconnect handle is in the 'OFF' position, reassemble the cover, and tighten screws to a maximum of 20 in. lbs. Perform electrical tests to verify proper operation before connecting to any load.
