How to Install Series 6300 Non-metallic Type A Conduit Fittings
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Series 6300 Non-metallic Type A 1 1/2" & 2" liquid-tight conduit fittings, including straight and 90-degree elbows, onto an enclosure wall.

Tools needed:
Nonmetallic conduit cutter, Wrench, Protective gloves, Safety glasses
Supplies needed:
NM Type A Conduit, Series 6300 Non-metallic Type A fitting
- Prepare the Conduit
Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Use a nonmetallic conduit cutter to cut the NM Type A conduit to a clean 90-degree square end, as shown in Figure 1.
- Insert Conduit into Fitting Body
Ensure the gland nut is in position. Slide the prepared NM Type A Conduit through the gland nut by pushing and twisting clockwise (CW) until it bottoms out in the fitting body, as illustrated in Figure 2.
- Secure the Gland Nut
Hand-tighten the gland nut clockwise. Then, use a wrench to complete tightening until the base of the gland nut is snug against the hex flange of the fitting body, as shown in Figure 3. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
- Verify Conduit Security
Firmly pull on the conduit to confirm it is securely attached to the fitting and that a full insertion has been achieved, as depicted in Figure 4.
- Mount Fitting to Enclosure Wall
WARNING: Risk of shock, disconnect power before installation. Remove the locknut from the fitting, ensuring the O-ring remains flush against the hex flange. Attach the assembled fitting to the enclosure wall, as shown in Figure 5.
- Secure Fitting with Locknut
Hand-tighten the locknut against the enclosure wall. Then, use appropriate tools to add an extra 1/4 turn to firmly secure the fitting to the enclosure wall, as shown in Figure 6. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
