This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Series 6300 Non-metallic Type A liquid-tight fittings, including straight and 90-degree elbows, with NM Type A Conduit. Always disconnect power before installation and wear protective gloves and safety glasses.

Nonmetallic conduit cutter, Wrench, Protective gloves, Safety glasses
Supplies needed:
NM Type A Conduit, Series 6300 Non-metallic Type A fittings (straight or 90-degree elbow)
- Prepare Conduit
Use a nonmetallic conduit cutter to cut the NM Type A Conduit to a clean, 90-degree square end. Ensure the cut is precise for proper sealing.
- Insert Conduit into Fitting
With the gland nut in position on the fitting body, slide the NM Type A Conduit through the gland nut by pushing and twisting clockwise (CW) until it stops and bottoms out in the fitting body.
- Secure Gland Nut
Hand-tighten the gland nut clockwise onto the hex flange. Then, use a wrench to complete tightening until the base of the gland nut is snug against the hex of the fitting body. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN to prevent damage.
- Verify Conduit Connection
Firmly pull on the conduit to verify it is securely attached to the fitting and that a full insertion has been accomplished, ensuring a liquid-tight seal.
- Attach Fitting to Enclosure Wall
Remove the locknut from the fitting, ensuring the O-ring remains flush against the hex flange. Attach the assembled fitting to the enclosure wall, passing the threaded portion through the wall opening.
- Secure Fitting to Enclosure
Hand-tighten the locknut against the enclosure wall from the inside. Then, use appropriate tools to add an extra 1/4 turn to firmly secure the fitting to the enclosure wall. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
