Overview

The ABB Copper Two-Way Splice (SKU 54823) is a heavy-duty electrical connector engineered for high-voltage power distribution systems. Designed for medium to high-voltage installations up to 35kV, this splice accommodates large conductor sizes up to 750 kcmil, making it ideal for demanding industrial and utility applications where reliable electrical connectivity is critical. Constructed from high-conductivity wrought copper with an electro tin plate finish, this splice provides superior corrosion resistance and stable electrical performance in harsh environmental conditions. The long barrel design ensures maximum mechanical strength and electrical integrity, while the bidirectional configuration allows connections from either end for simplified installation in tight spaces or complex wiring layouts. Key specifications include a 4.75-inch (120.65mm) length, providing ample contact area for secure crimping and long-term stability. Proper installation requires die code 106, ensuring a precise crimp that meets industry standards for mechanical and electrical performance. This splice is part of ABB's Two-Way Splice Connector series, designed for long barrel applications ranging from 600V to 35kV. Applications include power distribution systems, substations, industrial machinery, and utility installations where high-voltage connectivity is required. The splice's robust construction and high-conductivity copper material ensure reliable operation in critical infrastructure, maintaining stable electrical performance over time even in challenging conditions.
