Insulated Vinyl Step-Down Butt Splice for Wire Range 12-10 to 16-14, Yellow with Blue Color Ring, Package of 50How to Install the High Voltage Two Way Splices
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing high voltage two way splices safely and effectively.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Crimping tool, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
High voltage connectors, Cable ties, Hose clamps
- Prepare the cable
Train the cable into its final position, mark the splice center line, and cut excess cable from each end.
- Strip the cable
Remove the cable jacket, shield, and insulation from the conductors for a distance of 1/2 connector length plus a minimum of 1/2 inch.
- Insert the conductor
Fully insert the conductor into the connector ensuring proper alignment.
- Crimp the connector
Make the first crimp at one end of the connector next to the taper, then make a second crimp at the other end of the connector next to the taper.
- Overlap crimping
Crimp in overlapping steps from the 'start overlap' line towards the connector ends, ensuring no ridges are left.
- Final crimping
Repeat the crimping process with the tool rotated 90 degrees to ensure the connector is round and avoid flash and ridges.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to check the integrity of the connections and ensure there are no shorts.
