Jacketed Metal Clad Cable (Teck or MC type), Thomas & Betts 10469 Cable Connector
- De-energize Circuits
Before beginning any installation or maintenance, verify that all electrical circuits are completely de-energized to prevent the risk of electrical shock. This is a critical safety measure.
- Prepare Cable Jacketing
Strip off the cable jacketing to the appropriate length, matching the length of the Protective Grounding Sleeve. Exercise extreme caution to avoid nicking or cutting the conductor insulation during this process.
- Install Protective Grounding Sleeve
Slip the Protective Grounding Sleeve (Sabre Tooth™ type) completely over the exposed cable armor.
- Insert Cable into Connector
Push the prepared cable firmly into the connector body until the cable armor reaches the internal armor stop.
- Secure Set-Screws
Tighten the connector's set-screws to a torque of 35 inch-pounds (in.-lbs). Alternatively, tighten until the head of each set-screw is flush with the connector body.
- Tighten Gland Nut
Firmly tighten the gland nut to complete the cable connection. For a 1" hub size connector (such as the 10469), tighten the gland nut to 700 inch-pounds (in.-lbs) of torque. Refer to the provided torque table for other hub sizes.
