How to Install T&B Liquidtight Flexible Metallic Conduit Connectors
This guide provides instructions for the proper installation of T&B liquidtight connectors with flexible metallic conduit, ensuring high performance and reliability in accordance with national and local electrical codes.

Metal jig, Hacksaw, Power band saw, Smooth jaw wrench, Hand protection, Eye protection
Supplies needed:
Liquidtight flexible metallic conduit, T&B liquidtight connector (gland nut, nylon sealing ring, Safe Edge™ Cone, body, locknut), T&B 140 series locknuts (optional, for knockout applications), T&B 5260 series sealing gaskets (optional, for knockout applications), PVC cement (optional)
- Disconnect Power and Prepare Conduit
WARNING: Disconnect all power before beginning installation to prevent risk of shock. Wear appropriate hand and eye protection. CAUTION: Product should be installed by a qualified electrician. Cut the flexible conduit with a clean, square end using a metal jig, a 32 Tooth/ln. hacksaw, or a 24-32 Tooth/ln. power band saw (not more than 400'/minute). Do not use an abrasive wheel.
- Assemble Connector Components
For 5000, 7000, 9000 series, and PVC coated 3300 series connectors, first slide the gland nut onto the conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit. Finally, thread the Safe Edge™ Cone onto the conduit. For PVC coated connectors, tighten components using a smooth jaw wrench; if gouging occurs exposing metal, apply PVC cement.
- Install Connector into Knockout Box
Insert the connector body into the knockout box. For knockout applications, use T&B® 140 series locknuts and 5260 series sealing gaskets, which are purchased separately. For 7000 and 9000 series, order the locknut separately. Ensure any captive 'O' ring (e.g., 5371 series) is correctly positioned on the outside of the box.
- Secure the Connector with Proper Torque
Tighten the locknut to the connector body to secure the connection. Refer to the torque table for the correct tightening torque based on the trade size of the fitting: 3/8" (200 lb.-in.), 1/2" (300 lb.-in.), 3/4" (500 lb.-in.), 1" (700 lb.-in.), 1 1/4" (1000 lb.-in.), 1 1/2" (1200 lb.-in.), 2" (1600 lb.-in.), 2 1/2" (1600 lb.-in.), 3" (1600 lb.-in.), 3 1/2" (1600 lb.-in.), 4" (1600 lb.-in.).
