Overview

The ABB SPSDOS20 is a heavy-duty substructure designed for ABB Power Break™ II breakers, supporting both standard (SDOD) and Hi-Break (HDOS) configurations. This essential component facilitates simplified breaker inspection and maintenance by allowing for breaker removal without de-energizing the main bus structure. The SPSDOS20 features pre-drilled holes for mounting shelves or supports, and its primary stabs are equipped with holes for secure bolting to busbars or terminal lugs, ensuring reliable electrical connections. This substructure is rated for 2000 Amps and is manufactured in the USA. As part of a comprehensive draw-out breaker system, the SPSDOS20 integrates with racking mechanism drives, wheels, primary and secondary disconnects, and cooperating interlock systems. Field-installable accessories enhance safety and functionality, including dead-front shutters (DSS) and padlock devices. Control wiring is managed through draw-out secondary disconnects, which operate in both 'TEST' and 'CONNECTED' positions. Up to 72 control circuits can be accommodated via 36-position plug-style secondary disconnect blocks, factory-mounted on each side of the draw-out breakers. It is critical to note that substructure secondary disconnects are ordered and priced separately. A substructure secondary disconnect (SPDOSD36S) is required per breaker when accessories or communications are utilized. If auxiliary switches are used in conjunction with any other electrical accessory or communications, two disconnects must be ordered. The SPSDOS20 is specifically designed for the 2000A frame size, corresponding to the S20 device type for T-stud connections.
