How to Install the Vortex A/C Enclosure Cooler VA501604X
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Vortex A/C Enclosure Cooler VA501604X on a UL Type 4 or 4X enclosure, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and configuration.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wrench, Drill, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Vinyl tubing, Muffler mounting clamps, Self-adhesive tubing clips
- Position the Vortex A/C
Position the Vortex A/C on the top or side of your enclosure ensuring sufficient clearance for internal thermostats and cold air outlets. Ensure the entire mounting footprint is supported.
- Cut mounting holes
Cut two 1-15/16” (49 mm) diameter holes on 4” (102 mm) centers in the selected location on the enclosure. Deburr any sharp edges around these holes.
- Install the Vortex A/C
Insert the threaded portions of the Vortex A/C into the holes and secure it from inside the enclosure using the electrical locknuts. Tighten the locknuts to compress the sealing gaskets.
- Mount Cold Air Mufflers
Determine suitable locations for the Cold Air Mufflers inside the enclosure and attach the Muffler Mounting Clamps using double-sided tape or screws. Ensure the surface is clean for secure adhesion.
- Connect cold air tubing
Cut lengths of the supplied vinyl tubing to connect the cold air outlets of the Vortex A/C to the hose barbs on the Cold Air Mufflers. Ensure the tubing is free of sharp bends.
- Install compressed air filter
Connect the compressed air filter model VAAF50 to the compressed air inlet on the Vortex A/C using a 3/8” pipe and a reducer bushing. Ensure the filter is positioned in a temperature-controlled area.
- Connect compressed air supply
Connect the compressed air supply to the inlet of the air filter, ensuring that the air flow direction is correct as indicated on the filter.
- Verify installation
Check all connections and ensure that the Vortex A/C is securely mounted and that there are no leaks in the compressed air system. Test the operation of the unit.
