How to Install the Vortex A/C VA2516012
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Vortex A/C model VA2516012 on a UL Type 12 enclosure, ensuring proper cooling for industrial control cabinets.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wrench, Drill, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Vinyl tubing, Muffler Mounting Clamp, Self-adhesive tubing clips
- Position the Vortex A/C
Place the Vortex A/C on the top or side of the enclosure, ensuring sufficient clearance for the thermostat and cold air outlet. Ensure the entire mounting footprint is supported.
- Cut the mounting hole
Drill a 1-15/16” (49 mm) diameter hole in the selected location on the enclosure. Deburr any sharp edges around this hole.
- Install the Vortex A/C
Insert the threaded portion of the Vortex A/C into the hole and secure it with the electrical locknut from inside the enclosure. Tighten the locknut to compress the sealing gasket.
- Mount the Cold Air Muffler
Determine a location for the Cold Air Muffler inside the enclosure and attach the Muffler Mounting Clamp using double-sided tape or screws. Ensure it is securely mounted.
- Connect the cold air tubing
Cut a length of the supplied vinyl tubing to connect the cold air outlet of the Vortex A/C to the Cold Air Muffler. Ensure the tubing is free of sharp bends.
- Connect the compressed air filter
Attach the compressed air filter to the inlet of the Vortex A/C using a length of 3/8” pipe. Ensure the filter is positioned where the temperature does not exceed 125°F (52°C).
- Connect the compressed air supply
Connect the compressed air supply to the inlet of the air filter, ensuring that the air flow direction is correct.
- Verify installation
Check all connections and ensure that the Vortex A/C is securely mounted and that there are no leaks in the compressed air system.
