How to Install the Vortex A/C Model VA091604X

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Vortex A/C Model VA091604X on an industrial enclosure, ensuring proper cooling functionality.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Vinyl tubing, Muffler mounting clamp, Double-sided tape

  1. Position the Vortex A/C

Place the Vortex A/C on the top or side of the enclosure, ensuring sufficient clearance for the thermostat and cold air outlet. Ensure the entire mounting footprint is supported.

  2. Cut the mounting hole

Drill a 1-15/16” (49 mm) diameter hole in the selected location on the enclosure. Deburr any sharp edges around the hole.

  3. Install the Vortex A/C

Remove the electrical locknut from the Vortex A/C and insert the threaded portion into the hole. From inside the enclosure, screw the locknut onto the threads and tighten securely to compress the sealing gasket.

  4. Mount the Cold Air Muffler

Determine a suitable location for the Cold Air Muffler inside the enclosure. Use the supplied mounting clamp to attach it securely, either with double-sided tape or by drilling holes for permanent mounting.

  5. Connect the cold air tubing

Cut a length of the supplied vinyl tubing to connect the cold air outlet of the Vortex A/C to the Cold Air Muffler. Ensure the tubing is free of sharp bends and kinks.

  6. Install the compressed air filter

Connect the compressed air filter to the compressed air inlet on the Vortex A/C using a length of 3/8” pipe. Ensure the filter is installed in a location where the temperature does not exceed 125°F (52°C).

  7. Connect the compressed air supply

Attach the compressed air supply to the inlet of the air filter, ensuring that the air flow direction is correct.

  8. Verify installation

Check all connections and ensure that the Vortex A/C is securely mounted and that there are no leaks in the air supply lines.
