How to Install Acrycell Sealing Tape
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing Acrycell Sealing Tape to effectively seal gaps between racks in a data center.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Scissors, Cutting blade
Supplies needed:
Acrycell Sealing Tape
- Prepare the surface
Wipe the surface where the tape will be applied with a damp cloth, then dry it using a lint-free towel to ensure proper adhesion.
- Peel the adhesive backing
Begin peeling the backing off the Acrycell Sealing Tape to reveal the adhesive side, ensuring to peel as you apply to prevent accidental adhesion to other surfaces.
- Apply the tape
Press the adhesive side of the tape against one side of the gap while unrolling it, ensuring it is straight and secure. Cut the tape at the end of the gap to form a secure seal.
- Store remaining tape
Any remaining tape should be stored under pressure to prevent premature expanding. Recommended storage includes shrink wrapping or securing the loose end with storage tape.
- Allow for expansion
Allow the tape to fully expand, which may take 60-72 hours, especially in ambient temperatures below 70°F.
