How to Install the T531926G151 Air Conditioner
Installation guide for mounting and wiring the T531926G151 air conditioner. Ensure proper functionality before permanent installation.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Gasket kit, Mounting bolts, Screws
- Inspect and Test Functionality
Inspect the air conditioner for any shipping damage. If the unit has been in a horizontal position, let it stand upright for at least 5 minutes before testing. Connect the power cord to a properly grounded power supply and operate the unit for 5-10 minutes to verify functionality. Check for excessive noise or vibration. Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements. Ensure the condenser blower, evaporator impeller, and compressor are running.
- Prepare Enclosure and Mount Unit
Determine if the unit will be surface or recess mounted and prepare the enclosure opening using the appropriate cutout dimensions. Install the provided gasket kit to the air conditioner. Mount the air conditioner onto the enclosure using the provided mounting bolts and screws. Ensure the unit remains upright during mounting.
- Route Drain Tube
Route the drain tube, ensuring it is on a continuous downward slope and does not kink or elevate above the exit point. Failure to do so could result in condensate drain pan overflow.
- Connect Power Supply
Refer to the top of the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord to a properly grounded power supply. Use of an extension cord is not recommended. The electrical circuit should be fused with a slow blow or HACR circuit breaker. Do not connect any other equipment to this circuit.
- Adjust Temperature Setting (Optional)
If necessary, adjust the temperature setting. Remove the nylon plug from the back face of the unit and use a screwdriver to turn the thermostat clockwise for cooler temperatures or counterclockwise for warmer temperatures. The factory preset is 75°F/23°C.
