How to Install the T501226G156 Air Conditioner
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the T501226G156 air conditioner, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wrench, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Gasket kit, Drain tube
- Inspect the air conditioner
Check the air conditioner for any visible damage and verify its functionality by connecting it to a grounded power supply. Ensure it runs without excessive noise or vibration for 5-10 minutes.
- Prepare the mounting location
Determine if the unit will be surface or recess mounted. Use the provided cutout dimensions to prepare the enclosure opening accordingly.
- Install gaskets and mount the unit
Using the gasket kit, attach gaskets to the air conditioner. Secure the unit to the enclosure using the provided mounting bolts and screws, ensuring it remains upright.
- Connect the drain tube
Route the drain tube ensuring it has a continuous downward slope and is not kinked. This will prevent overflow from the condensate drain pan.
- Wiring the air conditioner
Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord to a properly grounded power supply, ensuring the circuit is fused with a slow blow or HACR circuit breaker.
- Adjust the thermostat
Remove the nylon plug from the back of the unit and use a screwdriver to set the thermostat to the desired temperature. Turn clockwise for cooler temperatures and counterclockwise for warmer.
- Verify operation
After installation, power on the unit and check that both blowers and the compressor are running. Ensure there is airflow from both the evaporator and condenser.
