Overview

The nVent Syspend S2MER (SKU: S2MER) is a die-cast aluminum rotatable elbow designed for the SYSPEND 281-MAX and SYSPEND 180-MAX swing arm systems. It provides a 90-degree bend and allows the vertical tube to rotate 300 degrees, offering flexible positioning for HMI enclosures and control panels in industrial automation, manufacturing, and process industries. Constructed from durable die-cast aluminum with a RAL 9005 black finish, the S2MER is built for longevity and resistance to corrosion. Key features include an integrated safety stop and maintenance-free bearing, reducing downtime and lifecycle costs. Installation is simplified with included components such as gaskets, tube setscrews, and a removable cable access cover. While the SYSPEND 281-MAX system supports 281 lb. (127 kg) at 3.3 ft. (1 m), the maximum load capacity of any swing arm system depends on its overall length and structure. Consult mounting instructions for precise load calculations.
  • Set screws and gasket are included
  • Gray plastic cable access cover is included
  • Assembled Syspend 281 HMI Arm System has a max weight load of 281 lb. (127.7 kg)
  • Includes integrated safety stop and maintenance-free bearing.
  • Removable cable access cover simplifies wire management.

How to Install the S2MER Suspension System

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for mounting and configuring the S2MER suspension system for optimal performance.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Torque wrench, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Retaining washers

  1. Mount the tube

Secure the round tube to the mounting bracket using 6 M12 screws. Ensure the screws are tightened to a torque of 20 Nm and that the tube is aligned properly.

  2. Install the enclosure

Attach the enclosure to the mounted tube using 4 M6 screws and retaining washers. Tighten the screws to a torque of 6 Nm.

  3. Align the tube

Adjust the alignment of the tube by loosening screws 3 and 4, then tightening screws 1 and 2. Repeat the process to ensure the tube is level and secure.

  4. Calibrate the system

Unscrew the cover and adjust the tilt angle limiter to the desired angle. Tighten the threaded sleeve to set the inclination moment.

  5. Verify connections

Check all connections and ensure that there are no loose screws or gaps exceeding 4.4 mm. Use a multimeter to verify electrical connections if applicable.
