Overview

The nVent Syspend 281-Max Vertical Motion Pedestal Tube (SKU: S2M10VP77) delivers precise height adjustment for HMI and control enclosures in industrial workstations. Engineered from durable anodized aluminum, this vertical motion tube supports loads from 57 to 77 lb (26 to 35 kg) with a vertical lift range of 100 mm to 350 mm (3.94 in to 13.78 in). Internal gas springs enable smooth, controlled movement, while a locking handle secures the tube at any position to prevent accidental displacement. Cables are routed internally and separated from gas springs, with built-in strain relief for safe, organized installations. The tube integrates seamlessly with nVent Syspend mounting options, including Small Pedestal Base, Large Pedestal Base, Vertical Wall Joint, Wall Flange, Rotary Base, Elbow, and Rotatable Elbow. Designed for compatibility with Concept HMI and CC series enclosures (60 x 60-mm hole pattern), this tube requires specific couplings and adapters (e.g., S2MFC48, S2MA48) for proper installation. Note: The tube cannot be inverted for overhead mounting. Total system weight, including coupling, adapter plate, enclosure, and internal components, must be considered when selecting the tube model.
  • Adjustable from 1130 mm (44.49 in.) to 1380 mm (54.33 in.) with internal gas springs
  • Four models support loads ranging from 11 to 77 lb. (4.9 to 34.9 kg)
  • Height is fixed in place at any position by locking handle
  • Cables are separated from gas springs inside the tube
  • Internal strain-relief for cables inside the tube
  • Can be attached to Small Pedestal Base, Vertical Wall Joint, Wall Flange, Rotary Base, Elbow or Rotatable Elbow
  • Tube cannot be inverted for overhead mounting on the enclosure
  • Tube cannot be inverted for overhead mounting on the enclosure. The weight of the coupling, adapter plate, enclosure and internal components must be factored into the load when selecting a tube.
  • Cables separated from gas springs inside the tube for enhanced safety
  • Cannot be inverted for overhead mounting

How to Install the S2M10VP77 Suspension System

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the S2M10VP77 suspension system, ensuring proper alignment and secure mounting.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Torque wrench, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Retaining washers

  1. Mount the tube

Secure the tube in the desired position using M12 screws. Ensure the screws are tightened to a torque of 20 Nm and that the gasket is pressed flat during installation.

  2. Align the tube

Adjust the tube alignment by loosening screws and tightening them in the correct sequence to ensure there is no play. Check that the gap is a maximum of 4.4 mm.

  3. Secure the enclosure

Attach the enclosure to the tube using M6 screws and retaining washers. Tighten the screws to a torque of 6 Nm to ensure a secure fit.

  4. Calibrate the tilt angle

Unscrew the tilt angle limiter and set the desired inclination by adjusting the threaded sleeve. Tighten the limiter back in place after calibration.

  5. Verify connections

Use a multimeter to check all electrical connections for continuity and proper voltage levels to ensure the system is functioning correctly.
