Overview

The nVent QTPWTBBLK Wall-Termination Bracket is a heavy-duty steel bracket designed to securely terminate nVent Quick Tray Pro cable management systems to vertical wall surfaces. Measuring 3.00 x 12.00 x 3.00 inches (76 x 305 x 76 mm), this black-finished bracket mounts onto 1-5/8-inch wide metal channels for versatile installation in industrial, commercial, and data center environments. Constructed from corrosion-resistant plated steel, the QTPWTBBLK ensures long-term durability in demanding applications. It integrates seamlessly with the Quick Tray Pro system, requiring one QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer and one QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit for trays up to 8 inches (203 mm). For 12-inch (305 mm) trays, two sets of these components are required to maintain structural integrity and load distribution. This wall-termination bracket prevents cable stress by providing a smooth transition from horizontal cable trays to vertical wall surfaces. Its reinforced design supports heavy-duty applications, making it ideal for data centers, manufacturing facilities, electrical infrastructure, and telecommunications installations where organized and secure cable routing is critical.
  • 12" (305 mm) width for Quick Tray Pro cable management systems

How to Install and Configure QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray Sections

This guide provides instructions for cutting, bending, and joining QUICK TRAY PRO™ cable tray sections, such as the QTPWTBBLK, to create custom cable management pathways.

Estimated time: 2h

Tools needed:

Hoffman side action bolt cutter

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections, Splice kits (bolts, washers, nuts), Splice washers, Universal splice bars, T-connection or 90-degree splice bars, Cable tray supports

  1. Cut Cable Tray Sections to Size

Use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter to cut the QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray sections. Position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end. Ensure one clean cut to minimize sharp edges and protect against corrosion. Repeat for all side and bottom wires as needed for your desired configuration.

  2. Form Bends or Elbows

To create a 90-degree bend, cut the side and bottom wires according to the pattern for your tray width, then bend the tray until the inside edges meet. Secure the bend using Splice Kits and Splice Washers. For large radius bends, remove outside and bottom wires from every other mesh section and pull the ends together. For elbows, cut side wires from two trays according to the pattern, align them at the desired angle, and fasten with Splice Kits and Splice Washers.

  3. Connect Cable Tray Sections

Join straight cable tray sections or formed bends/elbows using Splice Kits and Splice Washers. For T-connections, cut side wires from the main tray, align the second tray, and fasten with Splice Kits and Splice Washers. For Y-junctions, cut both tray sections, bend side wires to 45 degrees, and connect using cut Universal Splice Bars along with Splice Kits and Splice Washers.

  4. Support the Installed Cable Tray

Install straight section supports at 6-foot (1.5m) centers. Ensure supports are placed within 24 inches (610mm) of any splice on straight sections. The span between supports must not exceed the length of the tray. Provide additional supports around bends and wherever the cable tray level changes.
