Overview

The nVent Quick Tray Pro Reinforced Wall Bracket (SKU: QTPRWB18) is engineered for robust support in demanding industrial and commercial environments. Designed to complement the heavy-duty capabilities of the Quick Tray Pro system, this bracket ensures secure and stable mounting of cable management trays, even under significant load conditions. Constructed from durable steel with a light gray finish, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and longevity in various operational settings. This reinforced wall bracket is specifically designed to mount onto standard 1-5/8-inch wide metal channel systems. This compatibility allows for seamless integration with existing infrastructure and provides a reliable foundation for your cable tray installations. The robust design of the QTPRWB18 is crucial for applications where cable weight, environmental factors, or vibration are primary concerns, such as in data centers, manufacturing facilities, power generation plants, and commercial buildings. Installation and tray securing are streamlined with the Quick Tray Pro system's accessories. For trays up to 8 inches (203 mm) wide, a single QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer and one QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit are recommended to firmly attach the basket tray to the bracket. For wider trays, 12 inches (305 mm) and above, the system specifies the use of two sets of these splice washers and kits to ensure adequate support and structural integrity. This attention to detail in the fastening mechanism highlights nVent's commitment to providing safe and reliable cable management solutions. Key features and benefits of the nVent QTPRWB18 Reinforced Wall Bracket include: * **Heavy-Duty Support:** Engineered for substantial load-bearing capacity, ideal for critical infrastructure. * **Durable Construction:** Made from high-quality steel for exceptional strength and resilience. * **Corrosion Resistance:** Light gray finish provides protection against environmental degradation. * **System Compatibility:** Designed for 1-5/8-inch wide metal channel, ensuring easy integration. * **Secure Mounting:** Facilitates reliable attachment of Quick Tray Pro basket trays using specified splice kits. * **Versatile Application:** Suitable for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and data center environments. How to Install and Modify QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for cutting, bending, and connecting sections of QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray to create custom cable management installations.

Estimated time: 2h

Tools needed:

QTPBC Side Action Bolt Cutter

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray (straight sections), QTPBNWK Splice Kit, QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kit (Black), QTPSSW3 Splice Washer, QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washer (Black), QTPUS10 10 in. Universal Splice Bar, QTPUS10BLK 10 in. Universal Splice Bar, Black, QTP90TKIT T-Connection or 90o Splice Bar, QTP90TKITBLK T-Connection or 90o Splice Bar, Black

  1. Prepare for Cutting Tray Sections

Always use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter for precision cuts. Before cutting, decide which wires must be removed and review the cutting pattern for your specific tray size and desired modification. Red areas on the drawings indicate wires to be removed.

  2. Cut Top Side Wires

Position the cutting jaws of the bolt cutter on the cradle wire of the top side wire. Make the cut at an angle away from the new end to minimize sharp edges and help protect against corrosion.

  3. Cut Remaining Side Wires

Continue cutting the remaining side wires. For each cut, ensure the cutting jaws rest on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end. Aim for one clean cut to avoid grinding or touch-up.

  4. Cut Bottom Wires

Turn the cable tray over. Cut the bottom wires from the underside, always resting the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end. Make one clean cut.

  5. Create a 90-degree Bend

At the desired bend location, cut all side wires and the necessary bottom wires according to the cutting pattern for your tray width. Turn the tray on the uncut side and smoothly bend the tray up until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet.

  6. Secure a 90-degree Bend

Fasten the bend at the indicated locations using QTBNWK/QTBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers, selecting the appropriate hardware for your tray width.

  7. Create an Elbow Connection

To form an elbow, cut the side wires from two separate tray sections following the specific cutting pattern for your tray width and desired angle. Remove the portions shown in red in the diagrams.

  8. Fasten an Elbow Connection

Align the wires of the two cut tray sections at the desired angle. Fasten the joint using two QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers for each joint. For an adjustable angle, use one splice kit and one splice washer, centered over two tray bottom wires.

  9. Support Installed Tray Sections

Install supports for straight sections at typical 6-foot (1.5m) centers. Ensure supports are placed within 24 inches (610mm) of any splice on straight sections. Provide additional supports around bends and wherever the cable tray level changes.
