- Cut Cable Tray Sections
Use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter to make precision cuts on the cable tray. First, decide which wires must be removed according to your desired configuration. Position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cut the top side wire at an angle away from the new end. Repeat for all remaining side wires, ensuring clean cuts. Turn the tray over and cut the bottom wires from the underside, resting the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end. This minimizes sharp edges and protects against corrosion.
- Form a 90-Degree Bend
At the desired bend location, cut all side wires for the specific tray width, following the cutting patterns provided in the manual (red areas indicate wires to be removed). Turn the tray on the uncut side and smoothly bend the tray upwards until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet, forming a 90-degree angle.
- Secure the 90-Degree Bend
Fasten the formed 90-degree bend using QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers. Refer to the manual for the correct fastening locations and number of splice kits and washers required for your specific tray width.
