Overview

The nVent ProLine Industrial Packages, specifically the PP2086HF model, represent a superior, ready-to-deploy enclosure solution designed for demanding industrial environments. Engineered by nVent, a recognized leader in enclosure technology, these packages eliminate the complexity of sourcing individual enclosure components. Each ProLine package is a comprehensive system, delivered with a single part number for unparalleled convenience and efficiency. This integrated approach ensures all essential elements are included, streamlining procurement and assembly processes for electrical and electronic equipment. At the core of the PP2086HF package is a robust, Type 12 rated steel enclosure, measuring an expansive 2000mm in height, 800mm in width, and 600mm in depth. The light gray finish provides a clean, professional aesthetic suitable for a wide range of industrial settings. This enclosure is specifically designed to meet EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements, offering enhanced protection against electromagnetic interference, which is critical for the reliable operation of sensitive electronic components in industrial automation, control systems, and power distribution applications. The steel construction ensures exceptional durability, resistance to impact, and long-term structural integrity, even in harsh operational conditions. Key components included in this fully featured package are a sturdy frame, solid door(s) for secure access, a reliable handle with an integrated key lock for enhanced security, a solid top, and a solid rear cover. Furthermore, a full mounting subpanel is provided, offering a stable and versatile platform for mounting internal equipment. A gland plate is also included, facilitating the organized and secure entry of cables and conduits. To aid in installation and maintenance, four robust lifting eyes are integrated into the design, allowing for safe and efficient handling of the enclosure. It is important to note that side covers are sold separately, offering flexibility for baying or joining multiple enclosures to create larger, custom configurations as project requirements evolve. Applications for the nVent ProLine Industrial Packages are extensive, spanning industries such as manufacturing, process control, power generation and distribution, telecommunications, and data centers. These enclosures are ideal for housing complex control panels, PLCs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), power supplies, and other critical electrical and electronic equipment that requires robust protection from environmental factors and electromagnetic interference. The Type 12 rating signifies protection against falling dirt and dripping water, making it suitable for indoor use in industrial facilities. The EMC compliance further enhances its suitability for environments where signal integrity is paramount. Choosing nVent ProLine Industrial Packages means investing in a reliable, efficient, and high-performance enclosure system. The pre-configured nature of these packages significantly reduces engineering time, assembly labor, and the risk of component incompatibility. How to Safely Handle and Install a Hoffman Enclosure

Follow these instructions for the safe handling and installation of your Hoffman enclosure. Always prioritize safety and refer to the nameplate or datasheet for specific model information.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Forklift, Overhead lifting device, Slings with hooks or shackles, Chain or strap (3000 lb-rated)

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, ROLL•A•LIFT™ or similar device

  1. Read Safe Handling Requirements

Before moving or installing the enclosure, thoroughly read and understand the 'Large Enclosure Safe Handling Requirements' document that accompanied the enclosure. Ensure the route is clear of obstructions and workers are at a safe distance.

  2. Prepare for Movement

Ensure the enclosure is stabilized before removing any strapping. If using a forklift, know its safe lifting capabilities and ensure it can handle the enclosure's weight and size. Always use both forks and position the enclosure far back on the forks, keeping the load against the carriage and tilting the load backwards towards the mast.

  3. Secure Enclosure for Transport

If using a forklift, secure the enclosure to the forklift mast using a 3000 lb-rated chain or strap through the provided eye bolts. Ensure sufficient tension to prevent tipping. If using an overhead lifting device, attach rigging to eye bolts, maintaining a maximum 45° angle between lifting cables and the vertical. Use slings with adequate load-rated hooks or shackles, not ropes or cables.

  4. Move the Enclosure

Start and stop the forklift slowly and gradually. Drive slowly with the forks as low to the ground as possible. For overhead lifting, select or adjust rigging lengths to compensate for any unequal weight distribution and support the enclosure in an upright position. Do not attempt to lift the enclosure completely off the ground if using a forklift with a clamping device.

  5. Position the Enclosure

Carefully position the enclosure on the forks or in its final location. Ensure it is stable and does not contact fixed objects. If using a ROLL•A•LIFT™ or similar device for multi-door enclosures, place it under one end and lift that end slightly while the forklift handles the other.

  6. Final Installation Checks

Verify that the enclosure is level, firmly installed, and all safety precautions have been followed. Re-check tension on any securing chains or straps. Refer to the nameplate or datasheet for any model-specific installation details not covered here.
