Overview

The nVent ProLine Industrial Packages (SKU: PP1888) represent a superior, fully integrated enclosure solution designed for demanding industrial environments. These pre-configured packages eliminate the complexity and time associated with sourcing individual enclosure components, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency for system integrators, panel builders, and maintenance professionals. Each ProLine package is meticulously assembled to provide a robust and reliable housing for critical electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. At the core of the ProLine Industrial Package is a heavy-duty steel frame, engineered for exceptional structural integrity. This robust construction provides a stable foundation for the enclosure's components and ensures it can withstand the rigors of industrial operation, including vibration, shock, and environmental stresses. The standard light gray finish offers a clean, professional aesthetic while also providing a degree of corrosion resistance suitable for many industrial settings. The Type 12 rating signifies that these enclosures are designed to protect against falling dirt and dripping water, making them ideal for a wide range of indoor industrial applications where dust, dirt, and incidental water contact are concerns. What sets the ProLine Industrial Packages apart is their comprehensive, ready-to-deploy nature. A single part number, PP1888, encompasses a complete system, including: a sturdy frame, solid door(s) for secure access and protection, an integrated handle with a key lock for enhanced security, a solid top panel, a solid rear cover for maximum enclosure integrity, a full mounting subpanel for flexible equipment installation, a gland plate for controlled cable entry and sealing, and four robust lifting eyes for safe and easy handling during installation and relocation. This all-in-one approach significantly streamlines the procurement and assembly process, reducing lead times and minimizing the potential for errors. While the core package provides a complete enclosure, nVent understands the need for flexibility in baying or joining multiple enclosures. Therefore, side covers are intentionally ordered separately. This design choice allows for seamless integration of multiple ProLine enclosures, enabling the creation of larger, customized control or power distribution systems tailored to specific application requirements. This modularity ensures that the ProLine system can scale with your operational needs. Key benefits of the nVent ProLine Industrial Packages include: * **Time and Cost Savings:** Eliminates the need to order and assemble individual components, reducing labor and procurement costs. * **Guaranteed Compatibility:** All included components are designed and manufactured by nVent to work harmoniously, ensuring a reliable and integrated solution. * **Enhanced Protection:** Type 12 rating provides protection against falling dirt and dripping water, safeguarding sensitive equipment. * **Robust Construction:** Heavy-duty steel frame and quality components ensure durability in harsh industrial environments. * **Security:** Integrated handle and key lock offer secure access to the enclosure's contents. * **Installation Ease:** Includes essential mounting and handling hardware like a subpanel and lifting eyes. How to Safely Handle and Install a Hoffman Enclosure

Follow these instructions for the safe handling and installation of your Hoffman enclosure. Always prioritize safety and refer to the nameplate or datasheet for specific model information.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Forklift, Overhead lifting device, Slings with hooks or shackles, Chain or strap (3000 lb-rated)

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, ROLL•A•LIFT™ or similar device

  1. Read Safe Handling Requirements

Before moving or installing the enclosure, thoroughly read and understand the 'Large Enclosure Safe Handling Requirements' document that accompanied the enclosure. Ensure the route is clear of obstructions and workers are at a safe distance.

  2. Prepare for Movement

Ensure the enclosure is stabilized before removing any strapping. If using a forklift, know its safe lifting capabilities and ensure it can handle the enclosure's weight and size. Always use both forks and position the enclosure far back on the forks, keeping the load against the carriage and tilting the load backwards towards the mast.

  3. Secure Enclosure for Transport

If using a forklift, secure the enclosure to the forklift mast using a 3000 lb-rated chain or strap through the provided eye bolts. Ensure sufficient tension to prevent tipping. If using an overhead lifting device, attach rigging to eye bolts, maintaining a maximum 45° angle between lifting cables and the vertical. Use slings with adequate load-rated hooks or shackles, not ropes or cables.

  4. Move the Enclosure

Start and stop the forklift slowly and gradually. Drive slowly with the forks as low to the ground as possible. For overhead lifting, select or adjust rigging lengths to compensate for any unequal weight distribution and support the enclosure in an upright position. Do not attempt to lift the enclosure completely off the ground if using a forklift with a clamping device.

  5. Position the Enclosure

Carefully position the enclosure on the forks or in its final location. Ensure it is stable and does not contact fixed objects. If using a ROLL•A•LIFT™ or similar device for multi-door enclosures, place it under one end and lift that end slightly while the forklift handles the other.

  6. Final Installation Checks

Verify that the enclosure is level, firmly installed, and all safety precautions have been followed. Re-check tension on any securing chains or straps. Refer to the nameplate or datasheet for any model-specific installation details not covered here.
