Overview

The nVent ProLine Gland Plate (SKU: PGPV68) is a crucial component for industrial enclosure cable management, designed to maintain NEMA Type 12 integrity while facilitating efficient cable entry. This specific model is engineered for 600x800mm enclosure dimensions and features a painted, filtered design, ensuring both environmental protection and a clean internal enclosure environment. Manufactured by nVent, a trusted leader in electrical enclosure solutions, this gland plate exemplifies robust construction and thoughtful engineering. Constructed from durable 14-gauge (1.75 mm) mild steel with a standard RAL 7035 textured light grey polyester powder paint finish, this gland plate is built to withstand demanding industrial conditions. Its primary function is to provide a sealed interface for cables entering the enclosure, preventing the ingress of dust, moisture, and other contaminants that could compromise sensitive electrical equipment. The filtered design actively contributes to maintaining a clean internal atmosphere, which is critical for the longevity and reliable operation of electrical and electronic components. This ProLine Gland Plate is designed for versatile integration with various nVent ProLine G2 base systems, including the 100 mm Solid Plinth Base, 100 mm or 200 mm Plinth Base, Mobile Base, and Transportation Base. Furthermore, it offers flexibility by allowing installation without a dedicated base when casters, levelers, or frame feet are utilized, simplifying installation and adapting to diverse site requirements. The ability to rotate the gland plate 180 degrees enhances its adaptability, allowing for either front or rear cable entry as dictated by the installation layout. Key features include: * **Sealed NEMA Type 12 Rating:** Ensures protection against dust and falling dirt, and is suitable for the eventual formation of ice on the outside of the enclosure. * **Filtered Design:** Actively manages airflow and prevents particulate ingress. * **Robust Construction:** Made from 14-gauge mild steel for superior durability. * **Adjustable Foam Gasketing:** Permits precise cable entry and maintains seal integrity. * **Versatile Mounting Options:** Compatible with various ProLine G2 bases or directly with casters, levelers, or frame feet. * **180-Degree Rotation:** Offers flexible cable entry orientation. * **All Installation Hardware Included:** Streamlines the setup process. This nVent ProLine Gland Plate is an essential accessory for any industrial application requiring secure, clean, and organized cable management within an enclosure. Its robust design and NEMA 12 rating make it ideal for use in manufacturing facilities, automation systems, data centers, and any environment where reliable protection of electrical components is paramount. The inclusion of additional foam gasketing provides further customization for cable density and access points, ensuring a perfect fit for specific wiring configurations.

How to Install the PGPV68 PROLINE™ Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the PGPV68 PROLINE™ enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Measuring tape, Level, Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Wire crimpers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (screws, anchors), Wire connectors, Grounding lug, Gasket material (if applicable)

  1. Select Mounting Location

Choose a suitable location for the enclosure. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the weight of the enclosure and its contents. Consider environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and potential exposure to corrosive elements. Verify that there is adequate space for installation and future maintenance.

  2. Prepare the Enclosure

If necessary, install any internal mounting panels, rack rails, or other accessories according to their specific instructions. Ensure all gaskets are properly seated to maintain the enclosure's environmental rating. If knockouts are present, select the appropriate size and location for cable entry and exit.

  3. Mount the Enclosure

Using a measuring tape and level, mark the mounting hole locations on the wall or mounting surface. Drill pilot holes and install appropriate anchors if required. Securely mount the enclosure to the surface using the provided mounting hardware. Verify that the enclosure is plumb and level.

  4. Install Internal Components

Mount any internal components such as circuit breakers, terminal blocks, or control devices within the enclosure. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for each component. Ensure proper spacing and grounding for all installed equipment.

  5. Wire the Enclosure

Route power and signal cables through the appropriate knockouts or conduit entries. Strip wire ends to the correct length and connect them to the designated terminals using appropriate connectors. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated. Install a grounding conductor from the enclosure to a suitable ground point.

  6. Verify Wiring and Connections

Before applying power, double-check all wiring connections for correctness and security. Use a multimeter to verify continuity and check for any short circuits or open circuits. Ensure that all connections match the wiring diagram.

  7. Finalize Installation

Close and secure the enclosure door. If applicable, install any external accessories such as handles or locks. Clean the enclosure and surrounding area.
