How to Demount the Front PFAL Plinth

Detailed instructions for safely demounting the front plinth of a PFAL unit while an EKOM module is installed, including required tools and torque specifications.

Estimated time: 15m

Tools needed:

SW8 Wrench, T30 Torx Bit, Torque Wrench

  1. Gather Tools and Prepare

Collect the necessary tools: an SW8 wrench, a T30 Torx bit, and a torque wrench. Ensure the PFAL unit is powered off and disconnected from any power source before proceeding to ensure safety.

  2. Remove Main Plinth Fasteners (A and C)

Using the SW8 wrench and T30 Torx bit, carefully loosen and remove the four M10x25 bolts (A) and their corresponding M10 fasteners (C) that secure the main part of the front plinth. These fasteners have a specified torque of 10-15 Nm for reinstallation.

  3. Remove Secondary Plinth Fasteners (B)

Next, locate and remove the two M6x16 bolts (B) that secure any secondary attachment points of the front plinth. These fasteners have a specified torque of 8-10 Nm for reinstallation.

  4. Detach Front Plinth

Once all fasteners (A, B, and C) are completely removed, carefully detach and remove the front PFAL plinth from the unit. Store all removed fasteners in a safe place for future reinstallation.
