This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely demounting the front plinth of a PFAL unit while an EKOM module is installed, including details on required fasteners and their torque specifications.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
8mm Socket Wrench, T30 Torx Screwdriver
- Prepare for Demounting and Identify Fasteners
Before starting, ensure the PFAL unit is powered off and secured. Identify the four M10x25 fasteners (A), two M6x16 fasteners (B), and four M10 fasteners (C) that secure the front PFAL plinth.
- Loosen and Remove Fasteners B and A
Using an 8mm socket wrench, carefully loosen and remove the two M6x16 fasteners (B). Note that their specified tightening torque is 8-10 Nm. Next, use a T30 Torx screwdriver to loosen and remove the four M10x25 fasteners (A), which have a specified tightening torque of 10-15 Nm.
- Remove Fasteners C and Detach the Plinth
Proceed to remove the four M10 fasteners (C). Once all fasteners (A, B, and C) are removed, carefully detach and remove the front PFAL plinth from the unit, ensuring no damage to the EKOM module or surrounding components.
