Overview

Enhance the visibility and security of your electronic equipment enclosures with the nVent ProLine Window Door (SKU: PDWG228). Designed to seamlessly integrate with nVent ProLine frames, these robust window doors offer a clear view of internal components without compromising the integrity of your enclosure. Constructed with a durable mild steel profile and featuring a sleek aluminum frame with a clear safety glass window, the PDWG228 is engineered for demanding industrial environments. The ProLine Window Doors are a critical component for applications requiring constant monitoring of sensitive electronic or electrical equipment. Their primary function is to provide a secure, yet transparent, access point, allowing technicians and operators to visually inspect status indicators, read displays, or verify the operational state of machinery without the need to open the main enclosure door. This not only improves operational efficiency but also maintains the environmental protection rating of the enclosure, safeguarding sensitive electronics from dust, moisture, and other contaminants. Key design features contribute to the superior functionality and longevity of the nVent PDWG228: * **Robust Construction:** Built around a sturdy mild steel profile, ensuring structural integrity and resistance to impact and vibration common in industrial settings. * **Advanced Hinge System:** Equipped with 140-degree hidden hinges that allow for a wide opening, facilitating easy access for maintenance and inspection. For applications requiring an even greater range of motion, 180-degree hinges are available as a separate order. * **Secure Latching Mechanism:** Features a flush bezel latch that activates a sophisticated 3-point latching mechanism. This ensures a tight seal and secure closure, preventing accidental opening and enhancing tamper resistance. (Note: Doors designed for 700-mm frames utilize a 2-point latching system). * **High-Quality Viewing Window:** The PDWG228 comes standard with a clear safety glass window, offering excellent visibility and durability. An alternative option with smoke-gray tinted polycarbonate is also available for applications where UV protection or glare reduction is a priority. * **Seamless Integration:** Specifically designed to fit 2200x800mm ProLine frames, ensuring a precise fit and maintaining the aesthetic continuity of your enclosure system. These window doors are ideal for a wide array of industries, including manufacturing, process control, telecommunications, data centers, and utility sectors. They are commonly deployed in control cabinets, server racks, and outdoor enclosures where visual monitoring is essential. The commitment to quality and innovation from nVent, a trusted leader in electrical enclosure solutions, ensures that the ProLine Window Door PDWG228 meets the stringent demands of modern industrial infrastructure. Manufactured in the USA, this product reflects a dedication to high-quality engineering and reliable performance. When selecting an enclosure component, consider the critical role of visibility and security. The nVent ProLine Window Door PDWG228 offers an optimal balance, providing peace of mind and operational efficiency for your valuable electronic assets.

How to Install the PDWG228 PROLINE® Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting the PDWG228 PROLINE® enclosure.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Drill, Level, Measuring tape, Pencil, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (M6 x 12mm screws, M6 washers), Mounting brackets (if not included with enclosure)

  1. Determine enclosure location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure, ensuring it is level and has adequate clearance for door opening and ventilation. Refer to the datasheet for specific clearance requirements.

  2. Mark mounting hole locations

Hold the enclosure in the desired position against the mounting surface. Use a level to ensure it is plumb. Mark the center of the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface using a pencil.

  3. Prepare mounting surface

Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting to drywall, use appropriate anchors. If mounting to concrete, use suitable concrete anchors. Ensure the mounting surface is capable of supporting the weight of the enclosure and its contents.

  4. Mount the enclosure

Position the enclosure over the prepared mounting holes. Insert the appropriate mounting hardware (e.g., M6 x 12mm screws with washers) through the enclosure's mounting holes and into the wall anchors or directly into the mounting surface. Tighten securely with a wrench, ensuring the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Verify stability

Gently push and pull on the enclosure to ensure it is securely mounted and does not wobble. Check that the enclosure remains level after tightening all mounting hardware.
