Overview

The nVent ProLine Window Door (SKU: PDWG188) is a premium industrial-grade viewing solution designed for ProLine equipment enclosures, offering secure access and visibility for electronic systems. Engineered by nVent, a global leader in thermal management and electrical infrastructure solutions, this window door integrates seamlessly with ProLine frames to provide a robust, tamper-resistant viewing portal for critical equipment monitoring. The door is specifically sized to fit 1800x800mm enclosures, making it ideal for industrial control panels, automation systems, and telecom installations where real-time equipment status checks are essential without compromising enclosure integrity. Key features of the ProLine Window Door include 140-degree hidden hinges for smooth, full-range operation and a flush bezel latch that activates a 3-point latching mechanism (2-point for 700mm frames), ensuring a secure seal against environmental contaminants and unauthorized access. The door is available with either a smoke-gray tinted polycarbonate or clear safety glass window, allowing for optimal visibility while protecting sensitive displays from UV exposure or glare. For applications requiring maximum access, 180-degree hinges are available as a separate order option. Industries that benefit from the ProLine Window Door include manufacturing plants, data centers, utilities, and transportation infrastructure, where equipment enclosures must balance security, accessibility, and operational visibility. The aluminum construction provides durability and corrosion resistance, while the design aligns with ProLine’s modular framework for easy integration into existing or new installations. nVent’s reputation for engineering high-performance thermal and electrical solutions ensures this window door meets stringent industrial standards for safety and reliability. Installation is straightforward, leveraging the ProLine frame’s standardized mounting points for a precise fit. Professionals should verify enclosure dimensions and latch compatibility (3-point vs. 2-point) during selection to ensure optimal performance. The clear safety glass option is recommended for applications requiring unobstructed visibility, while the smoke-gray tinted polycarbonate offers additional protection against light and heat infiltration. Choose the nVent ProLine Window Door (PDWG188) for a dependable, high-visibility solution that enhances equipment monitoring while maintaining enclosure security. Trusted by engineers and facility managers worldwide, nVent’s ProLine series delivers the durability and functionality required in demanding industrial environments.

How to Install the PDWG188 PROLINE® Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting the PDWG188 PROLINE® enclosure.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Drill, Level, Measuring tape, Pencil, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (M6 x 12mm screws, M6 washers), Mounting brackets (if not included with enclosure)

  1. Determine enclosure location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure, ensuring it is level and has adequate clearance for door opening and ventilation. Refer to the datasheet for specific clearance requirements.

  2. Mark mounting hole locations

Hold the enclosure in the desired position against the mounting surface. Use a level to ensure it is plumb. Mark the center of the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface using a pencil.

  3. Prepare mounting surface

Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting to drywall, use appropriate anchors. If mounting to concrete, use suitable concrete anchors. Ensure the mounting surface is capable of supporting the weight of the enclosure and its contents.

  4. Mount the enclosure

Position the enclosure over the prepared mounting holes. Insert the appropriate mounting hardware (e.g., M6 x 12mm screws with washers) through the enclosure's mounting holes and into the wall anchors or directly into the mounting surface. Tighten securely with a wrench, ensuring the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Verify stability

Gently push and pull on the enclosure to ensure it is securely mounted and does not wobble. Check that the enclosure remains level after tightening all mounting hardware.
