Overview

The nVent PDS226 Solid Door is a premium industrial-grade door designed for 2200x600mm enclosures, offering robust security and durability for critical applications. Manufactured by nVent, a trusted leader in thermal management and electrical protection solutions, this door combines high-performance materials with precision engineering to meet the demands of harsh industrial environments. Engineered for enclosures requiring maximum protection, the PDS226 features a removable door bar system on doors exceeding 700mm in height and 400mm in width, ensuring versatility for a wide range of enclosure configurations. The reversible hinge side allows for flexible installation options, while the flush bezel latch provides a clean, professional appearance with secure 3-point latching for doors taller than 700mm. For smaller 700mm frames, a 2-point latching system ensures reliable closure without compromising performance. Hidden hinges with a 130-degree swing enable attachment to either the front or back of the enclosure frame, accommodating space-constrained installations where door clearance is a concern. This design also facilitates easy access for maintenance or cable management. For side-mount applications, the PDS226 can be paired with a side-door adapter or cable entry cabinet, expanding its utility in complex electrical or control panel setups. The painted finish enhances corrosion resistance and provides a uniform appearance, making it ideal for facilities prioritizing both functionality and aesthetics. Typical applications for the nVent PDS226 Solid Door include industrial control panels, electrical enclosures, automation systems, and data centers where protection against environmental contaminants, tampering, and unauthorized access is critical. Industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, and transportation rely on nVent’s solutions to safeguard sensitive equipment and ensure operational continuity. Professionals select the PDS226 for its compatibility with standard enclosure frames, ease of installation, and compatibility with nVent’s extensive line of thermal management and electrical protection products. The door’s robust construction and thoughtful design features make it a preferred choice for engineers and technicians seeking long-term reliability in demanding conditions. nVent’s reputation for innovation and quality is underscored by its adherence to rigorous industry standards, including UL, NEMA, and IEC certifications. The PDS226 Solid Door, with its US-manufactured components, reflects nVent’s commitment to delivering high-performance solutions that meet the evolving needs of modern industrial environments. Whether for new installations or retrofits, the PDS226 provides a dependable, high-quality door solution that enhances enclosure security and operational efficiency.

How to Install the PDS226 PROLINE® Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting the PDS226 PROLINE® enclosure.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Drill, Level, Measuring tape, Pencil, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (M6 x 12mm screws, M6 washers), Mounting brackets (if not included with enclosure)

  1. Determine enclosure location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure, ensuring it is level and has adequate clearance for door opening and ventilation. Refer to the datasheet for specific clearance requirements.

  2. Mark mounting hole locations

Hold the enclosure in the desired position against the mounting surface. Use a level to ensure it is plumb. Mark the center of the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface using a pencil.

  3. Prepare mounting surface

Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting to drywall, use appropriate anchors. If mounting to concrete, use suitable concrete anchors. Ensure the mounting surface is capable of supporting the weight of the enclosure and its contents.

  4. Mount the enclosure

Position the enclosure over the prepared mounting holes. Insert the appropriate mounting hardware (e.g., M6 x 12mm screws with washers) through the enclosure's mounting holes and into the wall anchors or directly into the mounting surface. Tighten securely with a wrench, ensuring the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Verify stability

Gently push and pull on the enclosure to ensure it is securely mounted and does not wobble. Check that the enclosure remains level after tightening all mounting hardware.
