Overview

The nVent ProLine Solid Door (SKU: PDS188) is a premium-grade industrial enclosure door designed for demanding environments where durability, security, and ease of access are critical. Engineered to fit 1800x800mm enclosures, this painted solid door combines robust construction with advanced latching and hinge systems to meet the rigorous demands of modern industrial applications. Manufactured in the USA by nVent, a global leader in thermal management and electrical protection solutions, the PDS188 ensures compliance with industry standards while delivering long-term reliability in harsh operating conditions. This solid door is part of the ProLine series, a trusted line of enclosure solutions trusted by engineers, panel builders, and facility managers across industries such as manufacturing, utilities, data centers, and telecommunications. Its 1800x800mm dimensions make it ideal for large control panels, switchgear enclosures, and industrial cabinets requiring secure, weather-resistant access. The door features a removable door bar system for doors taller than 700 mm and wider than 400 mm, enabling quick maintenance and component replacement without removing the entire door. The PDS188 incorporates a 3-point latching system operated by a flush bezel latch, ensuring a tight seal and tamper resistance. Doors for 700-mm frames are equipped with a 2-point latching system for compatibility with smaller enclosures. Hidden hinges with a 130-degree swing allow for flexible installation—attachable to the front or back of the enclosure frame—while side-door adapters and cable entry cabinets enable doors to be mounted on the sides of the frame, accommodating complex installation layouts. Available in a painted finish, the door resists corrosion and wear, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. The reversible hinge side enhances installation versatility, allowing for left- or right-hand door orientation without additional hardware changes. This feature is particularly valuable in retrofitting projects or when reconfiguring existing enclosures for new equipment. nVent’s ProLine Solid Doors are engineered to integrate seamlessly with other nVent enclosure systems, including cooling units, cable entry solutions, and mounting accessories. This compatibility ensures a cohesive, high-performance enclosure system that meets NEMA, UL, and IEC standards for protection against dust, water, and mechanical impact. Professionals in industrial automation, power distribution, and infrastructure rely on nVent for products that deliver consistent performance under extreme conditions. Whether you're designing a new control room, upgrading a substation, or installing a data center rack, the nVent ProLine Solid Door (PDS188) provides a secure, accessible, and durable solution. Trusted by industry leaders worldwide, nVent combines innovation with rigorous testing to deliver products that protect critical assets and support operational continuity. How to Install the PDS188 PROLINE® Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting the PDS188 PROLINE® enclosure.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Drill, Level, Measuring tape, Pencil, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (M6 x 12mm screws, M6 washers), Mounting brackets (if not included with enclosure)

  1. Determine enclosure location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure, ensuring it is level and has adequate clearance for door opening and ventilation. Refer to the datasheet for specific clearance requirements.

  2. Mark mounting hole locations

Hold the enclosure in the desired position against the mounting surface. Use a level to ensure it is plumb. Mark the center of the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface using a pencil.

  3. Prepare mounting surface

Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. If mounting to drywall, use appropriate anchors. If mounting to concrete, use suitable concrete anchors. Ensure the mounting surface is capable of supporting the weight of the enclosure and its contents.

  4. Mount the enclosure

Position the enclosure over the prepared mounting holes. Insert the appropriate mounting hardware (e.g., M6 x 12mm screws with washers) through the enclosure's mounting holes and into the wall anchors or directly into the mounting surface. Tighten securely with a wrench, ensuring the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Verify stability

Gently push and pull on the enclosure to ensure it is securely mounted and does not wobble. Check that the enclosure remains level after tightening all mounting hardware.
