Overview

The nVent ProLine G2 Joining Subpanel (SKU: P2PJ18G) is a conductive steel subpanel designed to bridge adjacent enclosure bays in multi-bay systems. Measuring 1800mm in length, this joining subpanel creates a continuous, seamless panel surface between full subpanels of equal height, eliminating gaps that compromise environmental protection. Its conductive steel construction enhances grounding and shielding for sensitive electrical and electronic equipment in industrial environments. Installation is flexible, supporting both front and rear mounting to accommodate site-specific requirements. This subpanel is optimized for use with other ProLine G2 components, ensuring compatibility and system-wide reliability. It is ideal for applications requiring dust and moisture ingress prevention, such as manufacturing facilities, data centers, and utility infrastructure. Key features include: - 1800mm length for bridging multi-bay enclosures - Conductive steel construction for grounding and durability - Front or rear installation flexibility - Seamless integration with ProLine G2 full subpanels - Designed for environmental protection in industrial settings
  • Provides a continuous panel surface in multiple bay enclosures
  • Can be inserted between full mounting subpanels of equal height
  • Painted or galvanized options
  • Can be installed from front or rear
  • Subpanels can be mounted at any depth in 25-mm increments (front to back)
  • Heights greater than or equal to 1400 mm are 10 gauge (3.0 mm) mild steel; heights less than 1400mm are 12 gauge (2.5 mm)

How to Install the P2PJ18G PROLINE G2 Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the P2PJ18G PROLINE G2 enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Measuring tape, Level, Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Wire crimpers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware, Wire connectors, Grounding wire

  1. Prepare the mounting location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure. Ensure the mounting surface is level and capable of supporting the weight of the enclosure and its contents. Use a measuring tape to mark the desired mounting points.

  2. Drill mounting holes

Drill pilot holes at the marked locations on the mounting surface. The size of the drill bit should be appropriate for the chosen mounting hardware. Refer to the enclosure's datasheet for specific hole pattern dimensions if necessary.

  3. Mount the enclosure

Position the P2PJ18G enclosure over the drilled holes. Secure the enclosure to the mounting surface using appropriate mounting hardware. Ensure the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  4. Install internal components (if applicable)

If the enclosure is to house internal components, install them according to their respective installation instructions. Ensure all components are securely mounted and properly spaced.

  5. Wire the enclosure

Connect power and control wiring to the appropriate terminals within the enclosure. Use wire strippers and crimpers to prepare wires and ensure secure connections with wire connectors. Follow all applicable electrical codes and standards. Ensure proper grounding of the enclosure and all metallic components.

  6. Verify connections

Before applying power, use a multimeter to verify all electrical connections are correct and that there are no short circuits. Double-check wiring against the enclosure's wiring diagram or the datasheet.

  7. Close and secure the enclosure

Close the enclosure door and secure it with the provided latches or locking mechanism. Ensure the door is properly sealed to protect the internal components from the environment.
