Overview

The nVent ProLine G2 0mm Solid Base (SKU: P2B085) is a high-performance, industrial-grade enclosure component designed to securely close the bottom opening of ProLine G2 modular frames. Engineered for durability and versatility, this solid base is constructed from 16-gauge (1.5 mm) steel with a seamless polyurethane gasket that delivers UL component-recognized protection against water, dust, and contaminants. The base features a textured polyester powder paint finish in RAL 7035 light gray as standard, with custom color options available to match specific aesthetic or environmental requirements. ProLine G2 solid bases are essential for creating sealed, NEMA-rated enclosures in industrial, commercial, and utility environments where environmental protection is critical. Typical applications include control panels, electrical distribution systems, automation hubs, and telecommunications infrastructure. The 0mm design ensures a flush, low-profile installation while maintaining structural integrity, making it ideal for space-constrained installations or applications requiring minimal clearance. Installation is straightforward with the inclusion of four M12 hex bolts, and the design accommodates optional casters, levelers, or frame feet for enhanced mobility, stability, or elevation. This flexibility allows engineers and technicians to adapt the enclosure to specific operational needs, whether for temporary setups or permanent installations. The solid base also simplifies cable management by providing a clean, enclosed bottom surface, reducing the risk of ingress from debris or pests. nVent, a trusted leader in thermal management and electrical protection solutions, designs the ProLine G2 series to meet rigorous industry standards, including those for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and corrosion resistance. The modular design of the ProLine G2 system ensures compatibility with a wide range of frame sizes and accessories, making it a versatile choice for OEMs, panel builders, and system integrators. By selecting the P2B085 solid base, professionals gain a reliable, long-lasting solution that enhances the performance and longevity of their enclosures in demanding industrial environments. For applications requiring additional protection or specialized configurations, nVent offers a full suite of ProLine G2 accessories, including caster kits, levelers, and gland plates, ensuring a complete and cohesive enclosure solution. Whether used in manufacturing plants, data centers, or outdoor installations, the ProLine G2 0mm Solid Base delivers the durability, protection, and adaptability needed to safeguard critical equipment and maintain operational efficiency.

How to Install the P2B085 PROLINE G2

Installation guide for mounting the P2B085 PROLINE G2 enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Measuring tape, Level, Drill, Screwdriver set, Wrench set

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware, Gasket sealing tape, Grounding hardware

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the weight of the enclosure and its contents. Verify the location is level and has adequate clearance as per the datasheet.

  2. Mark Mounting Holes

Using a measuring tape and the enclosure's mounting template (if provided) or by measuring directly from the enclosure, mark the positions for the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface. Ensure the marks are level.

  3. Drill Mounting Holes

Drill the mounting holes at the marked locations. Use appropriate drill bits for the mounting surface material. If required, install anchors or other necessary hardware into the holes.

  4. Mount the Enclosure

Position the P2B085 enclosure against the wall or mounting surface, aligning the enclosure's mounting holes with the drilled holes. Secure the enclosure using appropriate mounting hardware (bolts, screws, etc.). Ensure the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Install Gasket and Grounding

If applicable, apply gasket sealing tape around the door frame or enclosure opening according to the manufacturer's instructions. Attach the grounding conductor to the designated grounding point on the enclosure and to the grounding system.

  6. Final Inspection

Verify that the enclosure is securely mounted, level, and all connections (including grounding) are properly made. Check that the door closes and seals correctly.
