Overview

The nVent ProLine G2 Solid Base (SKU: P2B0168) is a precision-engineered, 0mm-height solid base designed to securely close the bottom opening of industrial enclosures measuring 1600x800mm. Manufactured by nVent, a global leader in thermal management and electrical protection solutions, this painted base ensures durability, corrosion resistance, and a professional finish for critical infrastructure applications. Engineered for seamless integration with ProLine G2 enclosure frames, it provides a robust barrier against dust, debris, and environmental contaminants while maintaining structural integrity in demanding industrial environments. This solid base is ideal for applications requiring a flush, low-profile closure that does not interfere with internal component spacing or airflow management. Commonly deployed in electrical control panels, automation systems, and telecommunications enclosures, the ProLine G2 Solid Base supports compliance with IP (Ingress Protection) ratings and NEMA standards, making it suitable for use in manufacturing plants, data centers, renewable energy facilities, and commercial buildings. Its painted finish enhances resistance to moisture and chemical exposure, extending service life in harsh conditions. Professionals in electrical engineering, panel fabrication, and industrial maintenance rely on nVent ProLine G2 components for their modularity, compatibility, and adherence to stringent industry standards. The 0mm design ensures no additional height is added to the enclosure, preserving valuable floor or rack space—a critical consideration in space-constrained installations. Installation is straightforward, with pre-drilled mounting holes aligning with ProLine G2 frame specifications, reducing assembly time and minimizing error. nVent’s reputation for innovation and reliability in thermal and electrical protection solutions makes the ProLine G2 Solid Base a trusted choice for OEMs, panel builders, and end-users seeking high-performance enclosure accessories. Whether used in new installations or retrofits, this solid base delivers long-term value by protecting sensitive electronics, simplifying maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and performance requirements. For projects demanding precision, durability, and ease of integration, the nVent ProLine G2 Solid Base (P2B0168) stands as a cornerstone component in modern industrial enclosure systems.

How to Install the P2B0168 PROLINE G2

Installation guide for mounting the P2B0168 PROLINE G2 enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Measuring tape, Level, Drill, Screwdriver set, Wrench set

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware, Gasket sealing tape, Grounding hardware

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location

Select a suitable location for the enclosure. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the weight of the enclosure and its contents. Verify the location is level and has adequate clearance as per the datasheet.

  2. Mark Mounting Holes

Using a measuring tape and the enclosure's mounting template (if provided) or by measuring directly from the enclosure, mark the positions for the mounting holes on the wall or mounting surface. Ensure the marks are level.

  3. Drill Mounting Holes

Drill the mounting holes at the marked locations. Use appropriate drill bits for the mounting surface material. If required, install anchors or other necessary hardware into the holes.

  4. Mount the Enclosure

Position the P2B0168 enclosure against the wall or mounting surface, aligning the enclosure's mounting holes with the drilled holes. Secure the enclosure using appropriate mounting hardware (bolts, screws, etc.). Ensure the enclosure is firmly attached and level.

  5. Install Gasket and Grounding

If applicable, apply gasket sealing tape around the door frame or enclosure opening according to the manufacturer's instructions. Attach the grounding conductor to the designated grounding point on the enclosure and to the grounding system.

  6. Final Inspection

Verify that the enclosure is securely mounted, level, and all connections (including grounding) are properly made. Check that the door closes and seals correctly.
