Overview

The nVent KBAU5NXSLE Hazloc Cable Gland is a high-performance, ATEX and IEC certified solution engineered for secure cable entry into hazardous environments where explosive gases or dust may be present. Designed for armored cable systems, this stainless steel 316L gland provides exceptional corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and environmental sealing—critical for installations in Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, or Zone 22 hazardous locations. Manufactured in the USA by nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, this cable gland ensures compliance with stringent international safety standards while delivering reliable performance in extreme conditions. This Hazloc cable gland serves as a multi-functional interface between armored cables and electrical enclosures, offering three core benefits: strain relief to prevent cable pull-out, environmental sealing to block moisture and contaminants, and explosion protection to maintain safety integrity in volatile atmospheres. The gland’s Ex d/e/tb certification confirms its suitability for use in both gas and dust hazardous areas, making it a versatile choice for oil & gas refineries, chemical processing plants, mining operations, water treatment facilities, and offshore platforms where explosive atmospheres are a constant risk. Key features of the nVent KBAU5NXSLE include a 316L stainless steel construction for superior corrosion resistance in corrosive environments, an NPT 1 1/2" thread for compatibility with standard conduit systems, and a robust design that withstands vibration, temperature extremes, and mechanical stress. The gland’s armored cable compatibility ensures secure termination for braided or wire-armored cables, preventing damage from tensile forces or lateral movement. Installation is streamlined with a two-piece design that simplifies assembly while maintaining a tight seal against the cable jacket and enclosure wall. Professionals in industrial electrical installations rely on Hazloc cable glands like the nVent KBAU5NXSLE to meet critical safety and performance requirements. The gland’s compliance with ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IEC 60079 standards provides assurance that it meets global explosion protection regulations, reducing liability risks and ensuring worker safety. Its stainless steel construction also offers long-term durability in harsh conditions, minimizing maintenance needs and downtime in high-stakes environments. Selecting the right Hazloc cable gland involves evaluating thread type, material compatibility, and certification scope. The nVent KBAU5NXSLE addresses these needs with its NPT threading for seamless integration with North American installations, 316L stainless steel for broad chemical resistance, and Ex d/e/tb certification for dual gas/dust protection. Whether used in new construction or retrofit projects, this gland delivers the reliability required for mission-critical applications where failure is not an option. Trusted by engineers and safety officers worldwide, nVent’s reputation for quality and innovation makes the KBAU5NXSLE a preferred choice for hazardous location cable management.
