Overview

The nVent **KBAU3NBNCLE** ATEX/IECEx certified hazardous location cable gland delivers robust strain relief, environmental sealing, and secure cable entry for armored cables in explosive gas and dust atmospheres. Engineered for Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 applications, this brass cable gland meets the most stringent safety standards, including ATEX (II 2 GD Ex d IIC Gb, Ex e IIC Gb, Ex tb IIIC Db) and IECEx certifications, ensuring compliance with global hazardous location regulations. With IP66/68 ingress protection and UL2225 listing, the KBAU3NBNCLE provides uncompromising performance in the harshest industrial environments where explosive gases (Group IIC) or combustible dusts (Group IIIC) may be present. Designed for professionals who demand reliability, this cable gland features a nickel-plated brass construction with a chloroprene seal, delivering exceptional corrosion resistance and temperature stability from -40°C to 100°C (-40°F to 212°F). The NPT 1" thread ensures compatibility with a wide range of industrial enclosures and electrical equipment, while the integrated earth tag provides reliable grounding for enhanced safety. The gland’s three-level removable seal system allows for a broader clamping range, accommodating varying cable diameters without compromising sealing integrity. Industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, mining, pharmaceuticals, and food & beverage rely on nVent’s hazardous location solutions to protect critical infrastructure and personnel. The KBAU3NBNCLE is ideal for: - **Petrochemical plants** where flammable gases require explosion-proof cable entry solutions. - **Mining operations** with dust-laden environments necessitating IP66/68-rated protection. - **Power generation facilities** where reliable cable strain relief prevents mechanical stress on connections. - **Water treatment plants** requiring corrosion-resistant materials for long-term durability. - **Manufacturing facilities** with combustible dust hazards, such as grain processing or woodworking. Installation is straightforward, with the gland packaged as a complete kit including a locknut and earth tag (NPT 3/8" glands exclude these components). The gland’s design minimizes installation time while maximizing operational safety, reducing the risk of cable pull-out, moisture ingress, or electrical faults. nVent’s reputation for engineering durable, high-performance hazardous location products ensures that the KBAU3NBNCLE meets the demands of even the most rigorous industrial applications. Backed by nVent’s global expertise in thermal management and electrical protection, the KBAU3NBNCLE hazardous location cable gland is a trusted choice for engineers, contractors, and safety officers who prioritize compliance, durability, and performance. Whether specifying for new installations or retrofitting existing systems, this cable gland delivers the reliability needed to safeguard people, processes, and assets in hazardous environments.
