How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure, ensuring proper fit and functionality.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired location on the side of the enclosure. Ensure it is aligned properly before proceeding.
- Cut the opening
Cut out the hole in the enclosure using the appropriate size for the model you purchased. Deburr the cutting edge to avoid sharp edges.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the fan or grille into the opening until all four corners snap and lock into place. Ensure it is securely fitted.
- Install mounting fasteners
If the enclosure material is between .10 (2.5 mm) and .14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thicker materials, removal of the grille is required to install the fasteners.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagrams provided for your specific model to connect the filter fan correctly. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Verify clearance
Ensure that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 (178 mm) from any obstruction to allow for proper airflow.
- Test the installation
Power on the system and use a multimeter to verify that the fan is operating correctly. Check for any unusual noises or vibrations.
