How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and sealing a Lay-In Wireway for effective cable management.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Terminal connectors

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Seal the joints

For joints between lay-in sections, position the LSGQR fitting, leaving out the top flange screw on the hinge side, and install it with a shoulder bolt. Ensure gaskets are visible from above on both sides and rotate the cam to lock.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the enclosure for the box connector and gasket. Position the box connector inside the enclosure and place another gasket between the wireway section and the enclosure surface. Install a 90° angle sealing plate as described.

  4. Adjust telescope fitting

Assemble the compression ring, gasket, and retainer on the telescope fitting body. Insert the body into the straight section and adjust to the desired length. Secure with screws and nuts.

  5. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used vertically, drill .25 inch diameter holes through the sides and bottom of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  6. Calibrate the wireway

After installation, verify that all sections are securely fastened and that there are no gaps in the seals. Use a multimeter to check for continuity if the wireway is used for grounding.
