How to Install the nVent Hoffman LED-Cabinet-Light
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for safely installing and wiring the nVent Hoffman LED-Cabinet-Light in suitable control cabinets, including options for door switches and series connections.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws (if using screw mounting), Wire connectors, Door-operated switch (optional), AC or DC connectors (as required by power supply)
- Prepare for Installation and Unpack the Luminaire
Before starting any work, switch off the main power supply or the connection lead to prevent electrical hazards. Carefully unpack the LED-Cabinet-Light, removing all transport safeguards. Check the delivery for completeness and ensure no loose parts are inside the housing. If loose parts are present and not explicitly described, do not install or operate the product.
- Mount the LED-Cabinet-Light
Mount the LED-luminaire firmly in a suitable control cabinet, ensuring it is on a stable, even, and tilt-fixed surface. Do not mount it on easily inflammable surfaces. Use appropriate fastening material for your installation background, following the methods shown in figures 1-3 and 5 of the documentation (e.g., channel mounting, quick-fixation, or screw mounting).
- Perform Electrical Connections
Only an approved electrician may carry out works on the electrical connection. Connect the power supply to the luminaire as illustrated in figures 6-7. If desired, install a door-operated switch as shown in figure 8; note that each switch only affects the light it is connected to. For lead-through wiring of multiple luminaires (up to 4 maximum), connect them as shown in figure 9. Ensure the total current, including any devices connected to sockets, does not exceed 16A (10A for US sockets). When inserting or removing a plug, always hold the light with one hand.
- Verify Functionality and Secure Fixation
After completing all connections and mounting, switch on the power supply. Check if the LED-Cabinet-Light functions properly (e.g., no flickering, no unusual sounds or smells). Also, ensure that the luminaire is securely fixed to its mounting surface.
