How to Install the Telecommunications Ground Bar (TGB)

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for mounting and wiring the Telecommunications Ground Bar (TGB) in a telecommunications room.

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

3/8” mounting hardware, Copper base antioxidant, Two-hole compression lugs, Stainless steel hardware

  1. Mount the busbar

    Secure the busbar to a flat surface using the appropriate 3/8” mounting hardware. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.

  2. Prepare the mounting surface

    Clean the busbar mounting surface with an abrasive pad. Apply a copper base antioxidant to prevent corrosion.

  3. Attach conductors

    Use two-hole compression lugs and stainless steel hardware to attach the conductors to the busbar. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
