Overview

The nVent Concept Hinged Window Kit (SKU: CWH3136) is a Type 12 rated hinged window solution designed for nVent HOFFMAN enclosures. This kit features a durable die-cast aluminum frame with a .188-in. (5-mm) thick clear polycarbonate window, providing a 310x360mm (253x276mm visible) viewing area. The hinged design, with a single-point slotted latch, allows easy access for inspection and maintenance while maintaining enclosure integrity. Optional locking or non-locking wing knob latches (CWKL/CWKN) are available for added security. The kit includes a 2-inch (51-mm) space between the enclosure front and window surface, accommodating switches, lights, and meters. Rated UL 508A, UL 508, NEMA Type 12, CSA Type 12, and IEC 60529 IP66, it is ideal for industrial environments exposed to dust, dirt, and splashing water. The textured ANSI 61 gray finish ensures a professional appearance. Pre-assembled for quick installation with four mounting screws and concealed frame caps, this kit is a versatile addition to larger standard HOFFMAN enclosure doors.

How to Install the CWH3136 Fixed Window Kit

Instructions for installing a fixed window kit onto a Hoffman CONCEPT enclosure.

Tools needed:

Drill, Screwdriver, Measuring tape, Marker

Supplies needed:

Fixed window kit (including bezel, window, and screws), Gasket (if applicable), Mounting hardware (M5–.8x20mm screws)

  1. Prepare the Enclosure Door

    If not using a CONCEPT™ O.I. body, use the bezel as a template to mark drilling and cutting locations on the enclosure door. Ensure the markings are accurate.

  2. Drill and Cut Openings

    Drill the necessary holes and cut out the marked section on the enclosure door according to the template. Clean any rough edges.

  3. Mount the Bezel

    Attach the bezel to the enclosure door using the provided M5–.8x20mm screws. If a gasket is included, ensure it is properly seated between the bezel and the door.

  4. Install the Window

    Carefully place the window into the bezel. Ensure it is seated correctly and securely.

  5. Attach Covers

    Snap on the covers (item 1) to complete the installation. These should be installed after all other assembly is complete.
