How to Install the CR290416G052 Air Conditioner

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the CR290416G052 air conditioner into an enclosure.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Ratchet driver

Supplies needed:

Mounting gasket kit, Mounting bolts, Washers

  1. Inspect and Test Functionality

Inspect the air conditioner for any damage. Test its functionality before mounting by connecting the power cord to a properly grounded power supply. Ensure the unit has been upright for at least 5 minutes if it was previously in a horizontal position. Do not operate the unit while it is horizontal or on its side. Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements and ensure the circuit ampacity is at least 125% of the design data. Operate for 5-10 minutes, checking for excessive noise or vibration. The condenser blower, evaporator blower, and compressor should be running, and condenser air should be warmer than room temperature within minutes.

  2. Prepare Enclosure Openings

Using the cutout dimensions provided in this manual, prepare the air 'IN' and air 'OUT' openings on the enclosure. Also, prepare the mounting bolt hole pattern for the enclosure.

  3. Install Gasket

Apply the provided gasket from the mounting gasket kit to the rear of the air conditioner. Refer to the 'Mounting Gasket Kit' section for proper location.

  4. Mount Air Conditioner

Mount the air conditioner onto the enclosure using the provided mounting bolts and washers. Start the bolts by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with a wrench or ratchet driver. Ensure the unit remains upright during operation.

  5. Connect Power

Refer to the top of the nameplate for electrical requirements. Connect the power cord to a properly grounded power supply. Use of an extension cord is not recommended. The electrical circuit should be fused with a slow blow or HACR circuit breaker. For specific electrical requirements, consult the nameplate or datasheet.

  6. Adjust Temperature Controller (if applicable)

If the unit is equipped with an automatic temperature controller, it is factory preset. For Level I controllers, disconnect power, loosen the front panel screw, locate the controller, and adjust the set point by turning the screw slot (counter-clockwise to increase, clockwise to decrease). Close the panel and restore power. For Level II and III controllers, refer to the separate programming manual if custom adjustments are needed.
