How to Assemble the Hoffman COMPACT® Pendant Arm Series 1 (CCS1H8V)
This guide provides instructions for the mechanical assembly of the Hoffman COMPACT® Pendant Arm Series 1, model CCS1H8V, including component identification and specified torque settings for secure connections.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Socket/wrench for M6 fasteners, Socket/wrench for M8 fasteners
- Identify Components
Unpack all components and identify parts 1 through 11 as shown in the exploded diagram. Ensure all fasteners (parts 1, 2, 3, 10, 11) and structural elements (parts 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) are present and undamaged before proceeding with assembly.
- Assemble Arm Segments and Mounting Base
Connect the various arm segments (parts 6, 7, 8, 9) and the mounting base (part 4) according to the exploded view. Use the M6 fasteners (part 10) and M8 fasteners (part 11) to secure these connections. Parts 1, 2, and 3 (screws, washers, nuts) are used for securing part 4.
- Tighten Fasteners to Torque Specifications
Using a calibrated torque wrench, tighten all M6 fasteners (part 10) to 3 Nm (27 in-lbs). Tighten all M8 fasteners (part 11) to 25 Nm (18 ft-lbs). Ensure all other connections using parts 1, 2, and 3 are securely fastened. WARNING: Adhere strictly to torque specifications. Incorrect torque can lead to structural failure, potential injury, or damage to the equipment. Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 15 lbs (7 kg) for the C-CS1H8V model.
