How to Install the Window Kit for Hoffman Enclosures

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a window kit in Hoffman enclosures, ensuring a secure and proper fit.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Square, Ruler, Drill, File

Supplies needed:

High strength double stick tape, Fasteners, Touch-up primer and paint

  1. Locate the position for the window

Using a square or a ruler, determine the desired position for the window installation. Ensure the opening is at least one inch smaller than the sheet size on all sides.

  2. Drill holes for the cut-out

Drill 9/64 inch diameter holes 1/4 inch from the edge of the opening in each corner and at least every four inches around the perimeter.

  3. Cut out the window opening

Carefully cut out the window opening and file the edges to produce a smooth and straight edge.

  4. Apply double stick tape

Apply high strength double stick tape around the inside of the cut-out, ensuring butt joints are horizontal and without gaps.

  5. Install the window

Carefully place the window in position using the outer edge of the tape as a guide. Firmly push the window against the tape to create a seal.

  6. Secure the window

Using the predrilled holes in the cover of the door as pilot holes, drill through the plastic and secure the window with the provided fasteners to a torque of 5 to 10 in-lbs.
