Overview

The nVent HOFFMAN AL3CRBLK is a field-installable 3-point latch kit designed for one-door Type 12 enclosures. This non-locking, clockwise (CW) operated kit is constructed from durable black steel, offering corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. It is specifically designed for enclosures with heights ranging from 36 to 48 inches. The AL3CRBLK ensures a secure seal against dust, dirt, and non-corrosive liquids, meeting NEMA 12 standards. Key features include adjustable latch rods that allow for precise gasket compression by relocating pins in the rod guides, simplifying maintenance and ensuring a consistent seal. The latch rods are equipped with rollers at the ends to reduce friction, facilitating smoother and more efficient door closure. This kit is compatible with most standard one-door Type 12 enclosures but is not suitable for Hoffman disconnect, CONCEPT, or PROLINE enclosures. All door openings are gasketed for a complete seal. The AL3CRBLK is an ideal solution for applications requiring frequent access where security is not the primary concern, such as control panels and electrical enclosures. SKU: AL3CRBLK. How to Install the AL2A Latch Kit

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the AL2A latch kit, ensuring proper mounting and functionality.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Nylon washers, Handle gasket, Latch rods, Roller pin, Retaining ring

  1. Drill holes for the latch

Locate and drill holes in the door from the outside edges using the dimensions provided in the installation guide. Ensure that you do not drill holes for rod guides.

  2. Install the handle gasket

Place the nylon washers and handle gasket on the outside of the door to ensure proper sealing. This step is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the latch.

  3. Adjust latch rods

If the latch rod is too long, select the appropriate hole and cut the latch rods approximately 3/8 inch from the center of the hole. Confirm the hole selection before cutting to avoid mistakes.

  4. Secure the roller pin

Insert the roller pin into the designated hole and secure it with the retaining ring. If the gasket compression is excessive, adjust the roller pin one hole at a time until the proper compression is achieved.

  5. Position the latch

Use the provided washers to position the latch by spacing it in or out as required for optimal functionality.
