Overview

The nVent AEK460NDH electrical interlock is a rugged, plated steel device designed for 460VAC applications, ensuring personnel safety by preventing enclosure doors from opening while equipment is energized. This UL 508A Component Recognized and CSA Certified interlock is manufactured in the USA and features continuous-duty solenoid rated for heavy industrial use. The AEK460NDH mounts internally on Hoffman enclosures using existing door handle screws, with the strike plate attaching to the latch assembly. It maintains UL Type 4, 4X, and 12 ratings when properly installed, fitting one-door and two-door Type 4, 4X, and 12 enclosures, as well as larger junction boxes like CH, CHS, CHNF, CHNFSS, and CHAL. The device is packaged complete with solenoid assembly, strike plate/bracket, and installation instructions. Handles and latch mechanisms are sold separately. Electrical ratings include 440/480VAC at 0.025/0.16A (60Hz) and 0.030/0.18A (50Hz). Ideal for industrial control panels, motor control centers, and electrical enclosures requiring compliance with safety standards.
