Overview

The nVent AEK115 Electrical Interlock (SKU: AEK115) provides essential safety by preventing electrical enclosure doors from opening while equipment is energized. Operating at 115 VAC, this interlock system ensures personnel safety by mechanically blocking the door handle when the system is powered. Its rugged, plated steel construction is designed for continuous duty and heavy industrial use, offering durability and resistance to harsh environments. The AEK115 mounts on the inside of the enclosure door using existing screws that hold the door handle, with the strike plate attaching to the latch assembly. It is UL 508A Component Recognized and CSA Certified, meeting industry standards for safety. This interlock is compatible with various Hoffman enclosure types, including two-door Type 4 and 12, Type 4X with 3-point latch, free-standing Type 12, and one-door Type 12 enclosures with latch kits. It is not a substitute for the standard door or cover latch. The AEK115 is crucial for maintaining lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and enhancing workplace safety, reducing the risk of electrical shock and arc flash. Its normal/inrush current rating at 60 Hz is 0.100/.63 A, and at 50 Hz is 0.120/.69 A. Handles and latch mechanisms are not included.
  • Solenoids are rated for continuous duty and will stand up under heavy industrial use
  • Packaged complete with a solenoid assembly, strike plate or bracket and instructions for field installation
  • Handles and latch mechanisms are not included
  • AEK style electrical interlocks mount on the inside of the enclosure door using the same screws which hold the door handle in place, the strike plate attaches to the existing latch assembly
  • AEK NDH style electrical interlocks require drilling several holes in the cover and body for mounting
