This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a drip shield and stainless steel hinge pin on an enclosure to ensure proper protection and functionality.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Hammer, Center punch, Locking pliers, Screwdriver, Drill
Supplies needed:
10-32 screws, Nylon washers, Hex nuts, Sealer, Stainless steel hinge pin, Stainless steel clamps
- Install the Drip Shield
Center the drip shield above the door of the enclosure, ensuring it is positioned against the door opening flange. Drill one of the end holes using a 7/32 inch drill, then secure it with a 10-32 screw. Use the drip shield as a guide to drill the remaining holes and install the remaining screws, nylon washers, and nuts.
- Apply Sealer
Apply sealer between the drip shield and the enclosure to prevent water ingress. Ensure the sealer is evenly distributed for maximum effectiveness.
- Install the Stainless Steel Hinge Pin
Lay the enclosure on its back and use a hammer and center punch to start the removal of the existing hinge pin. Once removed, cut the new stainless steel hinge pin to the proper length if necessary. Start the pointed end of the new pin into the hinge loops, clamp it with locking pliers, and drive it in using a hammer.
- Install Stainless Steel Door Clamps
Remove each clamp assembly and install the stainless steel clamp assembly as shown in the documentation. Ensure all clamps are securely fastened.
