Overview

The nVent A48R3616NK is a 48x36x16 inch Type 3R steel enclosure designed for outdoor electrical protection in harsh environments. Constructed from 16-gauge steel with ANSI 61 gray polyester powder paint finish inside and out, this enclosure delivers robust mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Its Type 3R rating ensures defense against rain, sleet, and snow, while the drip shield top and seam-free sides direct moisture away from critical seams. The screw-cover design with plated steel screws along the bottom edge provides a secure, weather-tight seal without gasketing. Embossed mounting holes on the back allow direct mounting to struts or surfaces without requiring vertical structure. Optional mounting brackets (included) provide a 1-inch clearance to prevent pooling water damage. With no pre-drilled knockouts, this enclosure offers flexible conduit entry and custom mounting configurations. Ideal for water/wastewater treatment, telecommunications, industrial automation, and renewable energy applications, it meets UL 50, 50E and cUL standards (File No. E27525).
  • Drip shield top and seam-free sides, front, and back protect from rain, snow, or sleet
