Overview

The Woodhead Watertite® Connector (SKU: 29W83) is a robust 4-pole/5-wire, 3-phase, 600V connector designed for demanding industrial power distribution. Featuring a NEMA L23-30 configuration and a Type F4 cord grip body, this connector ensures reliable performance in harsh environments. Its construction includes a NEo-TEX® Paracril OZO rubber outer housing and grommet, nickel-plated brass plug blades and contacts, and stainless steel face screws for superior durability and corrosion resistance. The locking blade mechanism provides a secure, tamper-resistant connection, crucial for preventing accidental disconnections during operation. The Watertite® series offers exceptional environmental sealing, meeting NEMA ratings 1, 3, 4, 4X, 5, 6, 6P, and 12, and IEC ratings IP55 through IP67, making it suitable for wet locations, high-pressure washdowns (up to 1000psi), and exposure to dust and chemicals. Operating temperature range is from -40°C to a maximum continuous 75°C. The connector is engineered for a maximum 30°C temperature rise at full rated current after 50 cycles of overload at 150% of rated current with a 75% power factor. Installation is facilitated by color-coded, tri-drive terminal screws preset in an open position, and a transparent wiring guide ensures proper strand placement. A three-piece strain relief system protects the cord without damage. UL File No. E10176 and CSA File No. LR6837 certified, this connector is ideal for manufacturing, oil and gas, utilities, and food processing applications requiring dependable 3-phase power.
