How to Install the MSICE24 In-Ceiling Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the MSICE24 In-Ceiling Enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and grounding procedures.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Grounding cable, Nuts and washers
- Install threaded rods
Install four 1/2" diameter threaded rods to the building structure at the corners of the enclosure. Secure each rod with a nut and washer above and below the support bracket to ensure the enclosure is level and not supported by the ceiling grid.
- Ground the enclosure
Run a grounding cable from the Telecommunications Grounding Busbar (TGB) to the enclosure. Attach the grounding cable to one of the M5 earthing studs on the enclosure base, ensuring no other conductors are connected to this stud.
- Route cables
Use the conduit knockouts for cable ingress/egress. If using the gland plate, ensure it is installed to maintain enclosure ingress protection ratings. Alternatively, replace it with the MSICECB Cool Boot for higher cable capacity.
- Install electrical junction box
If required, install an electrical junction box using the provided M5 studs and flange nuts. Ensure that all electrical components are installed by a qualified professional according to local building codes.
- Bond the door
If using the MSGK door bonding kit, attach the bonding jumper to the specified M5 bonding studs on the enclosure and the door to ensure proper grounding.
